The primary goal of the SSFS Therapeutic Mentoring program is to provide a positive role model and professional life coach to improve the youth’s social functioning, enhance emotional intelligence levels, increase exposure, and maintain behavioral progress that may have been achieved when receiving more intense services.
Therapeutic Mentoring is a support service designed to assist youth up to 18 years old with improving key life skills, such as effective communication, decision making, and social skills. Adept therapeutic mentors engage the youth in activities that foster a healthy lifestyle and social development while teaching them how to build and maintain positive relationships with others. SSFS’ Therapeutic mentoring program will serve as a continuation of support to maintain social and behavioral progress after a youth has achieved progress with more intensive level services in many instances.
